The courses offered by the department are as follows:

Admission And Applications
The application for admission will be done by filling in application form and attaching with the form details of the candidate’s academic qualifications. The application will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee, which will give recommendations to the Principal who will in turn advise the applicant accordingly. The Principal will invite a suitable candidate to register for the course at the institute on a stated date.
Successful applicants will have to present the originals of all educational and other appropriate documents for verification purposes at the enrolment exercise.
The acceptance of an application does not constitute any commitment by the Institute to admit any candidate to a course in the Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute.
Successful candidates must accept an offer of admission within the period specified in the letter of offer, otherwise the offer will be deemed to have lapsed and the vacancy will be offered to other applicants. The Institute may withdraw an offer of admission to any applicant or de-register a student who has made a false Statement or withheld any information in his applications for admission or during his enrolment. The Institute also reserves the right to withdraw any course. Fees paid will not be refunded.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants can only be considered for admission if:
They satisfy the minimum academic requirements for the course as set down by NACTE for academic courses or as set down by the Merchant Shipping Act training, Certification and Manning Regulations;
They are certified physically and mentally fit to pursue the course applied for;
They are prepared to appear for interviews and to undergo any annual dexterity or aptitude tests if asked to do so;
Are of good character.
