Admission and Applications
The Centre’s training programmes are designed to suit all those whose professional activities require an international relations and diplomacy perspective. These include officials from the government, public and private business organizations, media, non-governmental organizations, international organizations and private individuals.

New students are admitted in September/October every year.
All admitted students are expected to conform to the Centre’s regulations.
The deadline for registration of students is fourteen days after the commencement of the semester.
Except under special circumstances, no students shall be allowed to change courses two weeks after the commencement of studies.
No change of names by students shall be allowed during the course of study and students shall only be allowed to use names appearing on their certificates.
No students shall be allowed to postpone studies after the effective commencement of an academic year except under special circumstances. Permission to postpone studies shall be considered after producing satisfactory evidence of the reasons for postponement and upon a written approval from the sponsor. Special circumstances shall include: sickness; serious social problems (each to be treated on its own merit); and severe sponsorship problems.
Applications shall only be considered and processed if accompanied by evidence of sponsorship.
Non-Tanzanian applicants must clear all immigration formalities required before leaving for Tanzania. They must also obtain a residence permit from the Immigration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, P.O.Box 512, Dar es Salaam, before they enter the country.
Application forms shall only be issued to those candidates who satisfy the minimum entry requirements, and after paying the non-refundable statutory application fee (subject to change) of Tshs. 30,000/= for Tanzanians and $30 for non-Tanzanians.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
The Centre offers the following programmes:
• A Technician Certificate in International Relations and Diplomacy (NTA level 4);
• An Ordinary Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy (NTA level 5 and 6);
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Foreign Relations (PDG – MFR); and
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Diplomacy (PGD – ED).
A Basic Technician Certificate in International Relations and Diplomacy (NTA level 4).
Category A: Direct Entry Regular Session
Applicants for a Basic Technician Certificate programme must have an Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Examination (C.S.E.E) with at least FOUR passes in any subjects.
An Ordinary Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy (NTA 5 and 6).
Category A: Direct Entry
Applicants must have a certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) or equivalent with credit passes in THREE approved subjects plus an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A.C.S.E.E) or equivalent, with ONE principal pass (in relevant subjects) and TWO subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting. Principal passes in DIVINITY and ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE shall not be considered for admission.
Category B: Equivalent Qualifications
Applicants must have any good diploma/certificate from a recognized institution.
A Post-Graduate Diploma in Management of Foreign Relations (PGD–MFR)
Applicants must have any good first degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution; OR a good advanced diploma from a recognized institution not less than “B” grade
A Post-Graduate Diploma in Economic Diplomacy (PGD-ED)
Applicants must have a good first degree (preferably in economics or commerce) or its equivalent from a recognized institution; OR a good and relevant advanced diploma from a recognized institution of not less than a “B” grade.
Additional qualifications may be required, especially proficiency in the English language.
