Arusha Journalism Training College (AJTC)
Arusha Journalism Training College (AJTC) is a private educational institution located at Arusha, which is duly registered by NACTE with registration REG/PWF/045P. The college being a limited liability organization and profit seeking organization is headed by Board of Directors. The Directors are the highest level of the college management.
To date, the college has been conducting educational Journalism Studies in compliance with the NACTE standards. The college provides Journalism program at NTA Levels 4 – 6. The college has modern physical structures of its own designed to accommodate a number of sections, administrative offices, canteen, staff room, girls and boys dormitories/hostels, and security room. The college intends to set high standards in moral discipline and academic performance that serves as a reference both nationally and internationally. The college is financed by the shareholders who have raised funds which put up buildings, recruited staff, acquired computers, books, cameras, and scholastic materials. The college is running with minimum external funding, the college is very viable business basing on the budgeted income statements. In academic performance, it is planned that the college will be one of the top Colleges offering Certificates and Ordinary Diploma in Journalism industry. This will be through application of effective teaching delivery methods, approved curriculum, admission of quality students and employment of highly qualified, experienced and well-motivated teaching and non-teaching staff. The college is strategically located and has the full support of the Board of Directors, Authorities, parents and the communities at large. Since the college is offering and continues to offer market driven courses, that are affordable; its graduates will and have become job creator rather than job seekers.
College educational programs are structured to organize that each student is individual, and that the college is ready to enable each individual to benefit fully to the opportunities it affords. The college holds out to all persons, regardless of race, creed, color, gender, or political opinion, the opportunity of acquiring education.
The college is located at Mbauda-kwa Mrombo area opposite Field Force Unity (FFU), 50 meters from FFU mini bus stop along the Oljoro road, it is about 6 kilometres from Arusha main bus station or 20 minutes drive. The college can be reached on variable costs by tax, motorcycle, public transports (daladala) or by using private transport.

Objectives of Arusha Journalism Training College
To preserve, transmit and enhance a broad base of knowledge for the benefit of its students.
To empower students to develop their fundamental capabilities, assist them to think critically and be skillful in communication and methods of enquiry.
To create a sense of public responsibility in the students.
To encourage perspectives and moral values embodying a sense of vacation, deep concern for human betterment, and the obligation of service to others, equality among persons, loyalty to the to the truth and responsible citizenship.
To develop and promote leadership with moral character and instilled with a sense of care and responsibility to all.
To stimulate and promote cultural development, interpersonal relationships and international understanding among students.
To promote an understanding of the practical applications of knowledge, including the historical origin, purpose and meaning of life, a balance of intellectual and spiritual values and the integration of various cultures.
Functions of Arusha Journalism Training College
1.To provide courses leading to certificates and diplomas.
2.To hold examinations and confer certificates and diploma upon persons who have 3. followed course of study approved by the Arusha Journalism Training College, Academic Committee, and additionally or alternatively has satisfied such other requirements as may be determined by the committee.
3.To provide for research and courses of Instruction for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge.
4.To provide for courses of Instruction on a full- time basis, by correspondence, extramural and on campus.
5.To erect, equip and maintain classrooms, laboratories, lecture halls, offices, libraries, museums and halls of residence and other buildings and structures, required for the fulfillment of the Arusha Journalism Training College objectives.
6.To provide and maintain sport fields and other recreational facilities for its students and members of its staffs.
7.To acquire through its Body of Directors, any property, movable, or immovable, and to take accept and hold any property which may become vested in it by way of purchase, exchange, grant, donation, lease or testamentary disposition.
8.To sell mortgage, let or hire exchange, donate or otherwise dispose of any property held by it.
